LESSONS FROM KENYA
Kenya political upheaval is a lesson that other developing countries have to learn from. Kenya once an oasis of democracy, peace and freedom in east Africa has become a land of tribal tensions, destitution and death. This is all due to corruption in the electoral process. Ghana, a country on the verge on another presidential election has to learn from Kenya’s mistakes and not repeat the same ones. Ghana cannot afford to make an error such as this, what will the country do then. Ghana is a beacon of hope in terms of democracy in the West African sub region; hence it is vital to maintain the tolerance and positivist that Ghanaians have always fostered amongst them. It is imperative that Ghanaians continue with their level of tolerance for other tribes and ethnic groups as intolerance breeds distinctions and violence against others of different ethnic groups. Amassing for peace and democracy as have always been our mantra is what we have to keep more now than ever. Voicing out our objections through the media as always have proved to be effective in transforming our country, we have to still be vocal and not resort to violence. Kenya is a test and an example for Ghana. Peace is the key to progress and prosperity.
